Q:: Who qualifies for scholarships?
A:: Children between the ages of 5-18 who either meet the family income guidelines or who have special needs.
Q:: How can my child qualify?
A:: A YMAF application must be completed and submitted for the child during open enrollment

A:: Please send an inquiry and you will be contacted right away.
Q:: When is the next open enrollment?
A:: You can see the next open enrollment here.
Q:: Which martial arts school can I attend?
A:: You may attend any martial arts school that agrees to help support the YMAF mission. Just provide their contact information on your application and we'll confirm everything with the school.
Q:: Do you provide scholarships to practice any martial art or only certain kinds?
A:: We provide scholarships to qualified students to practice and study any martial art as long as the martial arts school agrees to help support the YMAF mission.
Q:: Can I recommend a possible student?
A:: Yes. Please download and print out an application
Q:: How do I apply?
A:: Download and print a copy of the application. Complete the application and submit it to us.
Q:: What if my child doesn't recieve a scholarship?
A:: You may reapply at the next open enrollment.
Q:: If I receive a scholarship, will I get a check or does the money go to the school?
A:: Once you have been approved for a scholarship and have selected a school, we will pay all or a portion of the tuition by submitting a check to the approved school. You will receive confirmation of the payment submission.
Q:: I live outside of Los Angeles County; can I still apply for a scholarship?
A:: Scholarships are currently available for residents of the San Fernando Valley (North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Panorama City, Pacoima, and Reseda). We are working hard to expand our program area to all of Los Angeles County and surrounding counties. If you reside outside of the San Fernando Valley, please send an inquiry to our Expansion Department so that they may start looking for appropriate programs in your area.
